<06/10/08>: RELAPSE CONTAMINATION TOUR THIS JULY/AUGUST>
...So while you are sweating away this summer, spending half your paycheck on gas, and find yourself in the trajectory of this US tour, why not come out and see some metal? Yes we are gonna do a summer tour with the Relapse brotherhood, so come on out, and hear some of the new songs from the forthcoming album "Chinese Democra..." no, oops I mean "Traitors"...which by the way, came out pretty smashing, we are in postproduction now, more news on that soon (also looks like we might be doing 1 exclusive European festival, which will be annouced shortly). Apologies to those not in the West/Midwest, where most of the dates for the tour are, we will be back in your area as soon as we can...
<05/06/08>: UPDATE: RECORDING STARTS TODAY>
...Greets all...just arrived here in Salem mass, where we will be recording for the next 3 weeks, putting together our third album...and we are excited, getting drum sounds today and we leave for the studio to meet Kurt in about half an hour...as for the record its called "TRAITORS" with some tracks including "Theocracy," "Ghosts of Catalonia," "Occupation," Thrown Into The Sun," and "Black Sites."
Running time for the 10 tracks (plus Japanese/vinyl bonus track) is looking about 36 minutes / Release date US Sept 30 ...Oct 6 everywhere else..
<04/20/08>: UPDATE!!!! BACK FROM ICELAND-RECORDING STARTS IN 2 WEEKS!!>
The trip to Iceland a few weeks back was nothing short of amazing, beautiful country and great shows, many thanks to Johann for (finally!) helping us to get up there and rock out some tunes, as well as seeing the stunning landscapes, glaciers, seals, hot springs (see above photo), geysers, waterfalls etc...just amazing, pics up on the Flickr page soon.
Also, very excited about the new songs, which we will be recording, starting May 5th, up in Salem, Massachusetts, with Kurt Ballou at his God City Studios for a September 2008 release...presently we have 10 tracks prepared and the titles/track list will be posted shortly.
Lastly, Misery Index is excited to be confirmed for the Central Illinois Metalfest, and will be doing a handful of dates on our way out to the fest and back from Balitmore.
<02/28/08>: UPDATE!!!! BACK FROM EUROPE!!!>
We finished up our recent run through Europe last week with Canadian's Beneath the Massacre and Despised Icon, as well as with Scotland's Man Must Die, and it was our most memorable trip through Europe in a while, mostly because we finally got to go to Russia. The shows in Moscow and St. Petersburg were astounding (thanks Roman!), and we even got some tourism in between- pics up on the MI Flickr page in the coming weeks...THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR COMING OUT...if you missed any of the merch we had on the tour, we will be throwing it up in the Indiemerch store as well in the coming weeks.
We are now entering the final 2 months of songwriting for our yet-to-be titled third album, due out in September. We still plan on entering God City studios in May and recording about 10-14 songs. In the meantime we are headling to Iceland next month and are doing some regional and east coast shows, so check the TOURDATES section for details.

<01/17/07>: LEAVING FOR EUROPE IN 1 WEEK/UPDATES>
So the Iceland dates are starting to come together, info is below- additionally we are working hard on the set for the tour while at the same time trying to put together the newer material we are writing to record in May.
...Also, regarding the Mumakil Split that came out in Germany a few weeks ago on Power It Up! Records(Update 1/18)- The properly mastered CDs will be ready at the Essen show next Saturday, so everything is straight now
Also the local shows went very well in Baltimore at the Talking Head (City Paper Show Review) and DC at the Black cat ("Bottom Feeders" clip from the show on YouTube) over the last week, many thanks to all the bands we played with and the friends who showed up, it was a great time, fo sho.

<12/28/07>: RECORDING FOR NEXT ALBUM SET FOR MAY 2008>
So we are planning on entering the studio in May for roughly 3 weeks to record a new full-length. Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou will engineer and produce the effort at his Godcity studios in Massachusetts and the album will hit stores next fall via Relapse Records. Stay tuned for titles, info and other developments as the writing process continues over the winter!

The show at the Velvet Lounge in DC is now cancelled, however we are playing another DC show at the Black Cat with Time of the Wolf and King of Heresy, which is now confirmed for Thursday, January 10th. Additionally, the spilt with Mumakill (Swiss grind band extraordinaire) will finally see light on Power It Up Records (Germany) on Dec 14th. We will have the cd and 7" (which features 3 new tracks from us and Mumakill) on the upcoming Euro tour and we will be bringing some back with us for the US kids in February.

MISERY INDEX and DESPISED ICON will team up for a European co-headlining tour (MISERY INDEX will headline the mainland leg of the tour and DESPISED ICON headlines the UK dates) in January/February. Support at all shows will come from BENEATH THE MASSACRE, with ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY opening in the UK and MAN MUST DIE kicking things off in mainland Europe. The dates are as follows:
